The home building process at Taconic Homes is detailed, but rather simple process. We make it possible for our clients to enjoy their new home in a fraction of time compared to traditional stick building methods.
Our Design and Construction Process
As with any project to be constructed, it all starts with an idea!
That idea starts with identifying the type and style of home to be built.
We help our clients realize that vision by taking their ideas and putting them into a visual presentation.
1.) Concept and style selection
- Meet with a Taconic Homes representative
- Discuss the size, style, & features of the potential home to be built
- Discuss and establish a potential budget for project
- Establish a timeline that suits the client’s needs
2.) Creation of the plans
- Take the client’s concept and create a blueprint to work from
- Establish room sizes, features, and options
- Make window and door selections
- Create all exterior elevations
- Receive the preliminary cost to build the home itself
3.) Design and Costing
- Make final selections and decisions
- Determine the entire cost to build the home
- Place a deposit to order the home
- Sign contracts
- Begin construction
4.) Construction
- Site preparation – land clearing and excavation
- Construction of the foundation
- Delivery and erection of the home
- Installation of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical
- Completion of the exterior
- Completion of the interior
